Dentsu strategy

You will be part of the dentsu Business Strategy team. This team consists of three disciplines (Marketing Intelligence, Business Strategy and Communications Consultancy) which collaborate radically to serve our clients needs, with real data driven strategic thinking and actionable tactical direction through the total customer journey. This specific role applies to the (Brand) Strategy discipline.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to create brand/marketing communication strategies grounded in deep understanding of business fundamentals and fueled by powerful and real human insights that help our clients lead their segments, grow their business and win in the world.

As Strategy Director you will also manage strategists and/or lead on innovative strategy projects on a single account or several accounts – guiding business objectives, insight generation, cultural narrative, media briefs, creative media solutions, strategic POVs and go-to market activations. And last but not least you will be in charge of delivering thought leadership and award worthy ideas to clients.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strategically leads on day-to-day strategic work for client(s);

  • Develops, manages and grows a team of strategists;

  • Delivers proactive thought leadership to client(s);

  • Leads and/or inputs into new business pitching;

  • Contributes to agency thought leadership or initiatives;

  • Guides how audiences will contribute to achieving the overall business goals;

  • Guides award worthy work through creative media solutions.

What are we looking for?

Professional Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the marketing communication in general and the media landscape in specific;

  • Significant knowledge of communications planning and research methodologies;

  • Strong business and commercial acumen;

  • Identifies key market and consumer trends;

  • Experience in executing empirical research and data science;

  • Ability to generate innovative media driven ideas;

  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset;

  • Language skills: Fluent in English and in Dutch or French.

Key experience:

  • +7 years of experience in (marketing/ communication/ media) strategy;

  • Owned a client relationship;

  • Managed/worked with diverse teams to affect change;

  • Budget and profitability management;

  • People Management;

  • Digital Savvy;

  • Project management tools.
