Your team

The Global Addressable Media team is a team of 100+ digital media specialists with over 30 different nationalities. From our home base in London and Amsterdam we operate globally, covering 50+ markets. We work for a selection of the world’s largest brands, partner with the most advanced media and technology companies, and offer integrated digital media solutions connecting brands with their consumers via best-in-class digital ad experiences to drive sustainable growth.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead and shape dentsu’s Paid Social capability in the broadest sense and touches all various business areas; clients, solutions, commercials, product, talent, operational excellence, and community & thought leadership (more detail in key accountabilities).
The Head of Paid Social role is split in two parts; 50% of your time will be assigned to global client projects. These projects will be primarily focused on advanced paid social services and (consultancy) projects, the other 50% of your time will be assigned to lead the Paid Social Media practice globally; by working closely with Paid social leaders across dentsu’ s top 15 markets, as part of the Addressable Media Community. 
The Head of Paid Social will report into the senior director addressable media, and work in close partnership with other Capability leaders on Programmatic, Performance Marketing, and Search on our cross-channel digital capability.

What are you going to achieve?

The Head of Paid Social has a core responsibility to lead and shape our paid social capability across all business area’s; 

  • Clients – service our clients with leading and innovative paid social solutions;

  • Strategic Solutions – partners with our head of Addressable Media Solutions on the shaping of our capability into client-centric solutions by integrating and packaging our social capability. Represents our social capability in pitches;

  • Commercials – partners with our Client growth & business development Director on a commercial strategy for our social capability and with this supports our commercial targets on OM and OM%;

  • Product – Informs our integrated product team with the required tools and products to deliver best-in-class social services. Takes a leading role in the assessment and consultancy on suitable social Platforms & Partnerships;

  • Talent – leads the translation of the social capability to our wider Addressable Talent Framework including required capabilities, training and certification of social roles by level. Supports recruitment and retention of social talent;

  • Operational excellence – defines what good looks like by partnering with our Operations Director on the representation of social in campaign processes to protect quality assurance and playbooks;

  • Community & thought leadership – Represents dentsu’ s global paid social capability within the dentsu Addressable Community. Leads and shapes the paid social practice in close partnership with paid social leaders across dentsu’ s top 1 markets. Provides thought leadership, and facilitates information and resource sharing (case studies, interesting articles).

Who are you?

  • You have 9+ years’ experience in digital media and paid social media advertising, including previous roles such as Senior Paid Social Media Director, Paid Social Partner etc.;

  • You live and breathe the ‘social media practice’, you are passionate and able to lead and inspire other leaders in the field, on both client- and dentsu’ s side;

  • You have a good understanding of our clients ‘s evolving needs. You are a leader that will help us to shape and innovate paid social practice that help our clients and our business grow;

  • You have a deep understanding of the industry landscape and developments including the latest trends, tools, and technologies in digital advertising and primarily Paid social media;

  • You have proven track record on thought leadership; participated in panels, published articles etc.;

  • You are an exceptional communicator;

  • You have extensive experience with building and maintaining a network.
