Interim Business Intelligence Controller

The role is to project/temporary based for initially 3-4 months, starting asap. The office is located in Amsterdam, with a hybrid working policy currently in place.

Role purpose

We're looking for a BI Controller who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, master data management, analytics and data quality and stewardship. We need our BI Controller to be versatile, to display leadership qualities and to be enthusiastic in taking on new problems. As a key member of a versatile team, you design, test, deploy and maintain financial and business data solutions.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support a platform providing secured access to large datasets;
  • Day to day development activities aligned to one of the three key areas Master of Data Management, Enterprise Integration and API management;
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to understand and define data requirements;
  • Understand and document data structure and business rules within sources systems;
  • Focus on identifying data issues using data quality and profiling tools as appropriate;
  • Contribute to the analysis, design, development and delivery of data migration, data integration and MDM projects by performing complex data mapping and data conversion activities using tools where available;
  • Collaborate with other teams in Data Engineering and other Technology functions (e.g. DevOps, Security) to deliver secure, reliable, robust and scalable data solutions;
  • Troubleshoot and take ownership of issues in our development, test and production environments. Including performance optimization and continuous tuning;
  • Continuous learning and evaluation of the latest development methods, tools, and technologies;
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for datasets.

Who are you?

  • Motivated, proactive, willing to learn and grow on the job;
  • Demonstrable experience within data engineering and data related projects;
  • Hands on project delivery experience within a number of data related initiatives. This should include experience of data design, data mapping and data quality assessment;
  • Industry experience working with Master Data solutions;
  • Fluent in T-SQL, managing MS SQL Server and familiar with NoSQL databases a plus;
  • Knowledge in programming knowledge such as Python or C# a plus;
  • Understanding of solution architecture and familiar with Azure architecture;
  • Familiar with machine learning;
  • Experienced in Agile development;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
